The name “Olympique” is a tribute to the Winter Olympics in 1952, when the world’s best alpinists competed on the slopes of Norefjell. What we probably remember best from these Olympic Games was when Norway’s Stein Eriksen (“Mr. Ski”) won gold in giant slalom and silver in slalom.
